Xi’s navy prepares for US & Taiwan war? New monster ship lets Chinese fleet operate for months

China appears to be moving closer to launching what could become the world’s largest naval support ship, signalling Beijing’s push for a true blue-water navy capable of sustaining long-range operations far from home. Satellite imagery and shipyard photos suggest the massive “mega-replenisher” under construction at Guangzhou’s Longxue shipyard may support future PLA Navy carrier groups with fuel, ammunition and logistics during extended deployments. Analysts say the vessel could surpass retired U.S. Sacramento-class support ships in size and displacement. The development comes as China rapidly expands naval capabilities amid growing rivalry with the United States across the Indo-Pacific region.
