Oscar-winning actor Tim Robbins will get the Berlinale Camera honour at the upcoming Berlin Film Festival later this month. The award is given to honour film personalities or institutions to which it feels particularly indebted and wishes to express its gratitude, said The Hollywood Reporter.
Robbins, 57, picked up the Oscar and Golden Globe supporting actor award for Mystic River in 2003. He will be celebrated alongside the two other Berlinale Camera honours, indie legend Ben Barenholtz, who is behind the famed Elgin Cinema and was a producer on the Coen Brothers’ early films, and German cinema operator Marlies Kirchner.
The Berlinale Camera has been awarded since 1986 and is modeled on a real camera with 128 individual components.
