Israel-Hamas war highlights: Gaza death toll at 18,412; over 50,000 injured

"We are alarmed at the diminishing safe space for civilians in Gaza. The price of defeating Hamas cannot be the continuous suffering of all Palestinian civilians," the prime ministers of the three countries said in a joint statement on Tuesday as quoted by Reuters.

On Tuesday, US President Joe Biden said that Israel is starting to lose support from the international community due to its extensive bombing in Gaza which has resulted in the death of thousands of Palestinians.

"They're starting to lose that support," said Biden as quoted by Reuters.

The official account of the Prime Minister of Israel posted on X(formerly Twitter) that Israel has full backing of USA in its ground offensive against Hamas. Israel's PM Benjamin Netanyahu also thanked USA for its support.

On Tuesday, Israel's PM Benjamin Netanyahu revealed that there are differences with US on the matter of what might follow the Gaza war, reported Reuters.

Meanwhile, more than 100 Israeli hostgaes are still held under Hamas captivity amid the ongoing war.

On Tuesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said that Israel and the United States will never be able to finish Hamas. Amirabdollahian added that the only way to liberate Israli hostates was through a political solution to the ongoing war.

Israel shared a video on X(formerly Twitter) and highlighted that a ceasefire in Gaza would benefit Hamas and embolden its terror agenda.

Israel has shared how weapons were recovered from the house of a boy who received health treatment in Israel.

According to a report by AFP, Middle East leaders gathered in Qatar and discussed ideas for what happens after the end of Gaza war. They opposed the idea of putting their own troops or international forces into the ravaged territory.

"No one from the region will accept... to put boots on the ground (following after) an Israeli tank. This is unacceptable," said Qatari premier Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

The Palestinian health ministry has claimed that Israeli forces killed four Palestinians in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin on Tuesday. Notably, thousands of Palestinians have been killed in Gaza in the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.

Israel has shared the interview of Hamas's former Minister of Communications who has blamed Yahya Sinwar and Hamas officials for the destruction of Gaza.

On Tuesday, the health ministry in the Hamas-run Gaza Strip claimed that at least 18,412 people had been killed in the ongoing Gaza war. The ministry said there were more than 50,000 wounded, reported AFP.

Israel has shared a video of inspection of aid trucks to Gaza. First batch of humanitarian aid trucks were inspected at Kerem Shalom on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, the head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees Philippe Lazzarini termed the situation in Gaza as 'hell on earth' for its civilians.

"Back in #Gaza, endless deepening tragedy. People are everywhere, live in the street, need everything. They plead for safety & for an end to this hell on earth," UNWRA chief Philippe Lazzarini said in a post on X( formerly Twitter)

On Tuesday, India's External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar spoke to Israeli counterpart Eli Cohen and discussed the war situation in Gaza.

"Just spoke to Israeli Foreign Minister @elicoh1. Discussed the Gaza situation, Lebanon and safety of maritime traffic in the region," Jaishankar wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

"Will continue to remain in touch," he added.

On Tuesday, Gaza's Hamas-run health ministry claimed that Israeli forces are raiding Kamal Adwan hospital, reported AFP.

"Israeli occupation forces are storming Kamal Adwan hospital after besieging and bombing it for days," ministry spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra said, accusing troops of rounding up men in the hospital courtyard, including medical staff.

According to a report by Reuters, a meeting of more than 20 countries including Israel but no Arab states will happen in Paris on Wednesday. The focus would be to define a strategy on how to curb financing of Hamas and its activities online.

Israel has reposted a video of filmmaker Steven Spielberg commenting on growing antisemitism across the world amid Israel-Hamas war.

On Tuesday, Israel army revealed that more than 10% of its soldiers died in Gaza due to accidental friendly fire.

"To date there have been 105 deaths since the ground operations, 20 of which were accidents," a military spokesperson told AFP.

Thirteen were the result of friendly fire, while the others were killed in incidents involving weaponry, machinery, trampling, or "firing irregularities", the spokesperson said.

Israel Defense Forces shared a video of uncovering a terrorist training center in Gaza. Its soldiers claimed to have found many weapons including rifles, grenades, cartridges inside the center.

Israeli warplanes and tanks pounded southern Gaza overnight and on Tuesday, and the U.N. said aid distribution to Gazans facing growing hunger had largely stopped because of the intensity of fighting in the two-month-old war between Israel and Hamas.

In the southern Gazan city of Rafah, which borders Egypt, health officials said 22 people including children were killed in an Israeli air strike on houses overnight. Civil emergency workers were searching for more victims under the rubble.

Residents said the shelling of Rafah, where the Israeli army this month ordered people to head for their safety, was some of the heaviest in days.

The Kremlin reiterated its concern on Tuesday over the humanitarian situation in Gaza, saying it was practically impossible to deliver aid to Palestinians there while fighting between Israel and Hamas continued

Israel said Monday that more humanitarian aid will enter Gaza as it announced an additional checkpoint for examining relief supplies before dispatching them to the Palestinian territory through the Rafah gateway.

International aid organisations have struggled to get supplies to desperate Gazans under Israeli bombardment, with only the Rafah crossing in Egypt open.

World Health Organisation (WHO) chief on Tuesday said he was concerned about the prolonged checks of health convoys in the Gaza Strip and the detention of health workers there.

In a post on the X social media platform, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said a WHO-led mission to Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza on Saturday was stopped twice at a checkpoint on the way to north Gaza and on the way back, and that some staff of the Palestine Red Crescent Society were detained on both occasions.

"We are deeply concerned about prolonged checks and detention of health workers that put lives of already fragile patients at risk," Tedros said.

The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) reported that it successfully struck down six rockets out of a group that was launched by terrorists based in Lebanon at Israeli territory.

IDF forces then attacked the sources of the launches with artillery fire.

Meanwhile, the United States is concerned about reports that Israel used US-supplied white phosphorus munitions in an attack carried out in southern Lebanon in October, US National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby said on Monday (local time).

The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) reported that soldiers from its Bisla'h infantry brigade combat team together with fighters from the 636th special forces battalion identified terrorists who were armed with shoulder-fired missiles in the Shejaiya area. The brigade directed aircraft that eliminated the terrorists.

Further evidence of terrorists using UN facilities and schools as cover for their activities was also found.

During an activity carried out by the 460th armored brigade's Brigade Combat Team (special forces) in the Jabaliya area, fighters located explosive charges, a Kalashnikov and an RPG hidden in bags and UNRWA (The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees) in bags inside a residence. In addition, a truck full of long-range rockets was located near a school in the area.
