2 detainees, gunman dead after shooting incident at ICE facility in Dallas
Acting ICE director Todd Lyons said that those shot at the facility could be “employees, civilian visitors or detainees”.
At least three persons, including the shooter, died, and one other was critically injured after a shooting incident at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) office in Dallas, Texas, on Wednesday.
The Dallas Police Department, in a post on X, said that officers responded to an assist call at around 6:40 am (local time) in the 8100 block of north Stemmons Freeway.
They said that according to preliminary investigation, the suspect opened fire at the ICE facility from "an adjacent building".
"Two people were transported to the hospital with gunshot wounds. One victim died at the scene. The suspect is deceased. This is an ongoing investigation," the Dallas police added.

The Department of Homeland Security, in a detailed update on X, said that a "deranged gunman" attacked the ICE facility from a nearby rooftop.
"Three detainees were shot. Two are deceased, and the other is in critical condition. The gunman was found with a self-inflicted gun wound," the DHS said.
It further revealed that the shell casings that were found at the scene had "anti-ICE messages" on them. DHS called the shooting incident as an "attack on ICE law enforcement".
FBI chief Kash Patel shared images of the casings, where the "ANTI ICE" phrase can be clearly seen engraved on one of the shells.
"We are only miles from Prarieland, Texas where just two months ago an individual ambushed a separate ICE facility targeting their officers. It has to end and the FBI and our partners will lead these investigative efforts to see to it that those who target our law enforcement are pursued and brought to the fullest extent of justice," he wrote in an X post.

Patel said that no law enforcement personnel were injured in the incident.
Earlier, Kristi Noem, Secretary of the DHS, had confirmed the incident in a post on X. She said that the motive behind the shooting is not yet known.
"There was a shooting this morning at the Dallas @ICEgov Detention Facility. Details are still emerging but we can confirm there were multiple injuries and fatalities. The shooter is deceased by a self-inflicted gun shot wound," she wrote.
Noem added, "While we don’t know motive yet, we know that our ICE law enforcement is facing unprecedented violence against them. It must stop. Please pray for the victims and their families."
Vice President JD Vance reacted to the incident and said, "The obsessive attack on law enforcement, particularly ICE, must stop. I'm praying for everyone hurt in this attack and for their families."
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, three people were rushed to hospitals after the Boston Police were involved in a shooting after spotting a "naked man", armed with a knife, on Beacon Hill.
Officials reportedly acted after receiving a complaint of a break-in at a company in the district.
Boston Police Superintendent Paul McLaughlin said that officers were initially notified of an ongoing break-in when they noticed a man with a knife in a back alley. He said that three police officers tried to control the man with their electronic stun guns but failed. Following this, the cops shot the man several times. The man was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Boston Emergency Medical Services reportedly admitted three people from the site to hospitals after the incident.
