A small plane crashed on a highway in Laredo, Texas, catching fire on Tuesday night, June 16. A shocking new video surfacing on X shows first responders breaking a cockpit window at the scene near Loop 20.

The crash caused chaos, with people leaving their vehicles to desperately try and smash the cockpit and free people inside.
What we know about the crash so far
According to police, six people were on board when the plane crash, Newsday reported. The aircraft crashed in Laredo shortly after 10 pm, confirmed Jose Baeza, an investigator with the Laredo Police Department. One person was killed, according to AP News.
No immediate reports of injuries to those in vehicles on the highway, Loop 20, have emerged, he added. The Loop was closed in both directions after the crash.
Shocking videos surfacing on X shows the aircraft on its side, crashed into a highway barrier, on fire. Zayra Garza, an esthetician, was driving her coworkers home when she spotted the scene, topped her vehicle and started shooting videos.

{{/usCountry}}She then noticed someone inside the plane, trying to break the cockpit window to escape. People soon rushed to try and smash the window from the outside.
Garza’s husband quickly stepped out of their car to help, and that is when Garza saw the door of the plane open. She said she saw three people who looked like teenagers jump out, followed by someone who seemed to be a pilot. A crew member then tried to pull from the plane a person who seemed to be unconscious.
“It looked like part of a movie. I was in shock,” Garza said.
“What was worrying me was the fire,” she added. “I was concerned that it could have just exploded at any time.”
