Where is Casey Anthony now? Caylee Anthony death case in focus amid Lindsay Clancy trial

Casey Anthony was acquitted in 2011 of murdering her two-year-old daughter, Caylee Anthony. Anthony's case became one of America's most publicized criminal trials.
Anthony's whereabouts have gained fresh attention as the ongoing trial of Lindsay Clancy has renewed public interest in some of the most closely watched child death cases in recent US history.
Despite spending years mostly out of the public eye, Anthony has just made a comeback thanks to social media and a memoir project. She now identifies as a legal advocate and states that she wants to assist people in navigating the legal system.

Casey Anthony's acquittal in the murder case
Casey Anthony was found not guilty of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter in July 2011. However, the Florida jury convicted her on four counts of providing false information to law enforcement. She was sentenced to four years in prison but was released days later after receiving credit for time already served.
The case began after Caylee Anthony was reported missing in July 2008 by her grandmother, Cindy Anthony, according to Reuters. Anthony was spotted in clubs in the 30 days after Caylee's disappearance.
NBC News reported that Anthony was taken into custody and indicted by a Florida Grand Jury in October 2008.
Prosecutors argued Casey intentionally killed her daughter, while the defence claimed Caylee accidentally drowned in the family's swimming pool and accused Casey's father, George Anthony, of covering up the death. George Anthony has consistently denied those allegations. However, Caylee's skeletal remains were discovered near the Anthony family home in December 2008.
For nearly a decade after the trial, Anthony stayed away from public interviews. In 2022, she returned with Peacock's three-part documentary Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies. In the series, she repeated her claims that George Anthony played a role in the events surrounding Caylee's death. George Anthony again denied those allegations in subsequent television appearances.
Where is Casey Anthony now?
Anthony re-entered public life in March 2025 by launching TikTok and Substack. In one of her first videos, she said she had worked in the legal field since 2011 and wanted to advocate for herself, her late daughter and others facing legal challenges.
"My goal is to continue to help give a voice to people," she had said. She added that she hoped to provide legal resources to those who need them. She has also begun publishing a memoir titled Who Is She Really? on Substack.
Anthony has also spoken about working with private investigator Patrick McKenna, who served on her defence team during the trial. According to Oxygen, she later became his assistant after struggling to find employment following her acquittal.
Today, 15 years after her acquittal, Casey Anthony lives a largely private life. Her public appearances are limited to online platforms, where she continues to write about criminal justice and legal advocacy while defending her account of the events that led to Caylee's death.

Why the Casey Anthony case is gaining momentum
The Casey Anthony case remains one of the most debated criminal trials in modern US history because of its intense media coverage, much like the Lindsay Clancy murder trial for killing her three children.
While there is no legal connection between the Clancy case and Anthony's trial, an X account, @Lillyin_London, claimed that Casey Anthony is supporting Clancy in her murder trial. The post read, “well,... why am I not surprised that Casey Anthony is defending #LindsayClancy.”
However, there is no formal statement from Anthony that entails the post. HT.com is unable to verify the claims and has not found any statement from Casey Anthony regarding Clancy's murder trial in her Substack accounts.
Cheney Mason, Anthony's lawyer who defended her case, said on a podcast, Hidden True Crime, that the two cases were very different. He said Casey Anthony’s case had never convinced him she killed Kaylee, while Lindsay Clancy’s case looked, to him, like someone who was seriously mentally unwell and likely not fully in control.
