A video of frantic elephants rushing to save a drowning calf has taken the internet by storm, with many lauding the incredible teamwork displayed by the animals.

The CCTV footage from the Grand Park Zoo in Seoul, South Korea captures the moment the calf tumbles into the swimming pool while drinking water with an adult elephant.

Within seconds, another adult elephant, who was standing nearby, dashes to the scene to team up with its partner in the rescue mission. Both the elephants then enter the water and safely guide the calf to the shallow end of the pool.

A third elephant can be seen in the background, anxiously running back and forth behind its enclosure.

The video has touched the hearts of many on the web and garnered more than 5,60,000 views after it was posted on June 19.

One YouTube user commented, “Amazing how smart elephants are! such empathy!” Another said, “When animals know more about compassion and sympathy than humans ..”
