KARACHI: Thousands of people attended the funeral of qawwali singer Amjad Sabri on Thursday in Liaquatabad, Karachi, a day after he was shot dead. Sabri was laid to rest in the Paposhnagar graveyard besides the grave of his father, qawwal singer Ghulam Farid Sabri. Funeral prayers were held at the main Liaquatabad road and were led by Ahmed Deewan Masood, the Gaddi Nasheen (spritual heir) of the shrine of Baba Fareed Shakarganj of Pakpattan. People from various walks of life -- from film industry to politics — joined the final rites .
