The woman called Mahin has been charged with the murder of six people, including five women, in Qazvin, 100 miles
northwest of Tehran.

“Mahin in her confessions said that she had taken patterns from Agatha Christie books and had been trying not to leave any trace of herself,” Qazvin prosecutor Mohammad Baqer Olfat said.

The murderer, whose motivation for killing is based on her need for money to pay $25,000 debts, poisoned her selected preys mostly elderly women with anesthetised fruit juice and strangulated them to steal their jewelry and possessions. Two male accomplices of Mahin have also been nabbed for selling illicit drugs to the murderer.
