Ahmadinijad not invited for Obama's UN luncheon reception

US President Barack Obama has not invited his Iranian counterpart, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, to his traditional UN reception for the heads of state attending the annual General Assembly session of the United Nations later this month.

US President Barack Obama has not invited his Iranian counterpart, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, to his traditional UN reception for the heads of state attending the annual General Assembly session of the United Nations later this month.

When asked Ahmadinejad is being left out of the reception, the White House Press Secretary, Robert Gibbs said, "Because Iran is failing to live up to its international obligations."

There are no other nations, which would leave out of this, he said. "No, I don't think there are others that might miss out on the hors d'oeuvres," Gibbs said in response to a question.
