Petitioner Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi submitted in his petition that Bhagat Singh was a freedom fighter who was first awarded life imprisonment but this was later changed to a death sentence.
The petitioner maintained that Bhagat Singh was sentenced in a case which was hurried and one sided and that the case should be re-opened so that Bhagat Singh can be declared innocent.
