“Today, I am with the martyrs at Garhi Khuda Baksh. I am with my mother and my grandfather. Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto are still alive in our hearts even today,” Bilawal Bhutto told his audience in Urdu in a charged speech that questioned the role of the judiciary and attacked those he said were derailing democracy in Pakistan.

Several thousand had gathered to see Bilawal Bhutto speak on the fifth anniversary of his mother’s death. “Bhutto is an emotion, a love,” he said.

“Every challenge is soaked in blood. No matter how many Bhuttos you kill, more will emerge from every house.”

He questioned the role of the judiciary, particularly the chief justice. He asked how judges “have time to initiate cases on petty issues but do not have time to provide justice.”
