Addressing the handover ceremony of the two scanning systems to Pakistan, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Lou Zhaohui said it will enhance the capacity of Pakistani security forces in combating terrorism.

Citing their long history of friendly ties, Luo said the Chinese government is willing to provide the scanners with the state-of-the-art technology to Pakistan.

He appreciated Pakistan's efforts in providing security protection to over 10,000 Chinese engineers working in the country on 122 different projects.

He said the new security scanners will enhance the capacity of Pakistani law enforcers in order to ensure the protection of civilians including foreigners, and it will also help in maintaining a peaceful and favourable environment for trade, Xinhua news agency reported.

Pakistani Interior Minister Rehman Malik said the scanners will help in thwarting terror attempts. He claimed that the security situation across Pakistan was getting better as the international community, including China and the US helped the country in the security sector.
