Li Tianyi, the son of Li Shuangjiang, a famous singer of the People's Liberation Army (PLA), would be put on trial along with four others who allegedly took part in the gang rape at a Beijing hotel in February, state-run CCTV reported.

He is also the dean of the music department of the PLA Academy of Arts holding a the rank of a general.
