Bilawal was speaking at a function at Bradford in Britain that was organised to mark the 56th birth anniversary of his mother, who was assassinated on December 27, 2007.

In his first public appearance since the two press conferences that he addressed soon after Benazir’s death, one in Pakistan and the other in Britain, Bilawal said the extremists pulled the trigger but it was dictatorship that loaded the gun that killed his mother.

Bilawal said, much to the chagrin of Bhutto’s killers, his mother lives on in the hearts of every Pakistani who believes in a democratic Pakistan.

Vowing to expose Bhutto’s murderers, he said the UN probe now underway, “shall expose individuals who planned, financed and attempted to cover up the assassination”.
