Another 41 people in Fiji are being treated by the government health services as suspected cases of the A(H1N1) virus.
"Although the Fiji government is taking the appropriate measures to contain the illness, it is expected that more cases will appear in Fiji in the coming days and weeks," the WHO said in a statement.

"This is a new virus and it is expected to infect many more people than the normal seasonal influenza." The WHO in its latest update on Friday said there had been more than 44,000 cases of swine flu worldwide resulting in 180 deaths.
