"Two missiles destroyed a house in North Waziristan tribal district late on Thursday night, killing at least five militants," a senior security official told AFP.

It was not immediately clear if any senior Al-Qaeda or Taliban commanders were targeted in the latest strike.

Strikes by unmanned drones have continued to hit Pakistan's tribal region bordering Afghanistan despite protests by Islamabad.

Local intelligence officials confirmed the missile strike but did not say who the target was.
