Believe it or not, one in 20 schoolchildren in Great Britain thinks Nazi leader Adolf Hitler was Germany’s football team coach.

Not only this, a survey has also revealed that one in six youngsters believes Auschwitz is a World War II theme park while one in 20 thinks that the Holocaust was a celebration at the end of the war, the British media reported.

Twelve per cent even believe McDonald’s Golden Arches are a symbol of Remembrance Day and 40 per cent don’t know it falls on November 11, according to the survey.

A study by war veterans’ charity Erskin asked 2,000 children aged nine to 15 about both world wars — a quarter thought a nuclear bomb was dropped on Pearl Harbour and one in 10 thought the SS was Enid Blyton’s Secret Seven.
