The vessel, which arrived in Colombo on Wednesday, capable of operating medium sized helicopters, is tasked with patrolling and protection of off shore assets, surveillance of the Indian exclusive economic zone and logistic support.

"There was no meeting or interactions between the Naval officers aboard the Indian vessel with Sri Lankan navy officials and it was also a fuel halt," an official said.

The vessel is scheduled to leave Colombo on Thursday.

A Maldivian National Defence Force Ship CGS "Hurayee" has also docked at the Colombo port, officials said, adding it was also on a goodwill mission.
