Two prime tickets owned by Wall Street fraudster Bernard Madoff to the New York Mets’ first home game have been auctioned for $7,500. The three-day online auction saw bidders pay vastly over what eBay auctioneers said was the $525 face value for each seat at the baseball team’s Citi Field.

The three-day online auction saw bidders pay vastly over what eBay auctioneers said was the $525 face value for each seat at the baseball team’s Citi Field.

A total of 68 bids were lodged, according to the website on Monday.

The two tickets were part of a season package, all of which is due to be put up for auction by the government liquidator charged with raising cash from Madoff’s assets for victims.

Mets owner Fred Wilpon was close to Madoff and was among the thousands of people he cheated in a massive Ponzi scheme.
