Magnitude 5.7 quake hits Japan

An earthquake measuring 5.7 magnitude on the Richter scale hit the east coast of Honshu in Japan at 4.52 local time (2052 GMT) Saturday, Xinhua quoted the US Geological Survey as saying.

An earthquake measuring 5.7 magnitude on the Richter scale hit the east coast of Honshu in Japan at 4.52 local time (2052 GMT) Saturday, Xinhua quoted the US Geological Survey as saying.

The epicentre, with a depth of 23.9 km, was initially determined to be at 40.25 degrees north latitude and 142.4527 degrees east longitude.
