A man who killed a Pennsylvania-based Indian American urologist two years ago for a share of his wealth was sentenced to 17.5 years in prison by an Ohio court.
Damian Bradford, 25, was charged on Wednesday for killing Gulam Moonda in 2005 on a highway near Ohio.
The plot was hatched by the doctor's wife Donna Moonda and her boyfriend Bradford in such a way that it looked like a highway robbery. The jury last week also found Donna guilty of murder-for-hire charge.
Prosecutors have claimed that Donna, 47, conspired with her boyfriend to kill her husband so she could collect millions in inheritance and life insurance.
Donna could face death penalty. Her sentencing is scheduled for July 16, allheadlinenews.com reported.
Law enforcement agencies have estimated that the doctor was worth at least a few million dollars.
Last year, Donna had claimed that a gunman from another vehicle shot and robbed her husband before escaping.
