Sheremetyevo-2 in Moscow, Russia’s main airport, on Friday denied reports that all flights had been suspended, saying only a few depatures had been delayed for reasons beyond its control.
“There is no major problem with the airport. Some flights of some companies are being delayed for reasons not linked to Sheremetyevo,” a spokesperson for the international airport told the Interfax news agency.
“The information about a halt to service does not correspond to reality. At the current time there are minor delays to five Aeroflot flights in connection with restrictions on the work of border guards.
“All these delays will be ended in the nearest time and the management is taking all measures to solve the situation.”
Interfax had earlier reported that all charter and scheduled flights had been suspended for an indefinite period, without giving a reason.
