Nazi guard sentenced to 5 yrs jail

A German court today found former Nazi death camp guard John Demjanjuk, 91, guilty of almost 30,000 counts of accessory to murder and gave him a five-year prison sentence.

A German court on Thursday found former Nazi death camp guard John Demjanjuk, 91, guilty of almost 30,000 counts of accessory to murder and gave him a five-year prison sentence.

The judge in the court in Munich said he was convinced that Ukrainian-born Demjanjuk was a guard at the Sobibor death camp "and that as a guard he took part in the murder of at least 28,000 people."
