The party drew the attention of the National Human Rights Commission in the current worsening of human rights situation in the country.

A team of NC leaders led by Vice President Gopal Man Shrestha submitted a memorandum to the NHRC stating the activities of Unified CPN (Maoist) intimidating other parties' activists who differ from their opinions have mocked democracy and have encouraged impunity in the country.

In the memorandum the NC has alleged that Maoists had killed the party's General Convention member of Jumla district Umakanta Hamal. The party has also drawn the recent attack by the Maoist cadres against CPN-UML general secretary Ishwor Pokharel.

The party has urged the NHRC to take such incidents seriously to end the situation of impunity. Reacting to this, NHRC Chairman Kedarnath Upadhyaya expressed commitment to investigate the incidents of Jumla and other parts of the country involving violation of human rights.
