Nepal Maoists on Monday ended their two-month long disruption of the Parliament and allow the government to present its budget, but warned that it would resume the blockade if the CPN-UML led coalition failed to fulfill their demands.
The UCPN-Maoist on Monday reached an understanding with the two major coalition partners, the CPN-UML and Nepali Congress, after a crucial meeting between Maoists' supremo Prachanda and Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala and separate talks with Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal.
The Maoists agreed to allow the government to present its budget for the new fiscal next week and allow President Ram Baran Yadav, who has been flayed by the former rebels for reinstating army chief, to present the policy document of the government.
The new 22-party coalition must present its next budget before July 15.
The Maoist chief Prachanda, who addressed the Parliament on Monday, warned that if the government failed to address their demand within one month, the party would intensify its agitation and resume blockade of the House.
