North Korea expressed regret on Wednesday over the deaths of six South Koreans who were swept away following a deadly dam discharge on a cross-border river, according to Yonhap news agency.

The move from Pyongyang came during inter-Korean dialogue at Kaesong, a town just north of the border, Lee Jong-joo, spokeswoman for Seoul's Unification Ministry said, according to Yonhap.
The North on September 6 released millions of tonnes of water from a dam across the Imjin, drowning the South Koreans camping or fishing downstream.
