Union Minister Murli Deora on Friday dismissed the reports that "India is out" of the Iran gas pipeline deal, saying "no final word" has been said about it yet.
"I have seen report emanating from Islamabad that India is out of the 2,775-km gas pipeline but with Iran the question is still open. Only because of the political situation in Pakistan, just now there is a stop on that," the Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister told reporters in London.
"We have not received any formal communication from Iran on this issue," Deora, who is heading a high-level delegation to London for road shows for oil and gas exploration in India, said.
His remarks came after Pakistani Ambassador to Iran Muhammad Bux Abbasi was quoted as saying by the Tehran Times that "India is out" of the troubled Iran-Pakistan-India gas pipeline deal.
