Pak madrassa invites Osama’s teacher

Osama bin Laden's octogenarian teacher has been invited to judge the third annual All Karachi Madrassas' Speech Competition in Pakistan.

Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden's octogenarian teacher has been invited to judge a madrassa speech competition in Pakistan.

Shaikhul Hadith Maulana Sher Ali Shah, who once taught Laden and also Tehreek-e-Taliban's leader Mullah Umar, will judge the third annual All Karachi Madrassas' Speech Competition in the port city of Karachi. Shah is the head of Jamia Haqqania madrassa in the troubled North West Frontier Province. Fifteen students will take part in the competition today and the winner will walk away with a cash prize of Rs 1.25 lakh. The first and second runners-up will get Rs 80,000 and Rs 60,000 respectively. More than 100 students took part in the contest, the Daily Times reported.
