Police tear gas thousands of protesters in Ankara

Police in the Turkish capital Ankara used tear gas and water cannon to disperse thousands of demonstrators on the 10th day of nationwide protests against Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's Islamic-rooted government.

At least two people were injured in the clashes in downtown Kizilay square, an AFP photographer saw. Erdogan meanwhile was addressing supporters elsewhere in the city, after warning his patience with the demos "has a limit".
