Satellite images show progress in N Korea's reactor

North Korea appears to have made progress in the construction of an experimental light water reactor at the country's Yongbyon nuclear complex, a US think tank said, citing new satellite imagery.

North Korea appears to have made progress in the construction of an experimental light water reactor at the country's Yongbyon nuclear complex, a US think tank said, citing new satellite imagery.

"The reactor's turbine building appears externally complete," the Institute for Science and International Security said yesterday in a report, citing a satellite image taken on February 3.

The think tank said the turbine building was "still under construction" in an earlier image taken on September 20 last year.

On the other hand, the ISIS report said, "The dome for the reactor building, however, remains on the ground next to the building."
