Saudi Arabia calls for Arab meeting on Lebanon

Saudi Arabia has called for an emergency Arab foreign ministers' meeting to discuss the crisis in Lebanon.

Saudi Arabia, a key backer of the Lebanese government, called for an emergency Arab foreign ministers' meeting to discuss the crisis in Lebanon, Saudi-owned Al Arabiya television said on Friday.

It gave no further details of the call by Saudi Arabia, a major backer of the Sunni-led government in Lebanon, which is locked in a political battle and street fighting with an opposition movement led by Hezbollah, which is supported by Iran and Syria.
