Among the panel discussions, Dikshit is slated to participate is on how the leaders can promote the idea of combating global warming in cities which are responsible for three-quarters of energy consumption.

The discussion will revolve round what the leaders need to do to play a critical role in containing greenhouse gases.

The meet, C40 Large Cities Climate Summit, will bring together mayors who are dedicated to reducing carbon emission and developing infrastructure that encourages more efficient use of energy.

C40 is a group of the world's largest cities committed to tackling climate change. The Clinton Climate Initiative (CCI) is working with members of the C40 to develop and implement a range of programmes that will quickly reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

This includes the world's largest cities, as well as some smaller cities that are at the forefront of innovative efforts to reduce their carbon footprint.
