A gunman opened fire in a southern California restaurant on Saturday, killing two diners, including a child, local television KTLA reported.

The man shot another man, a woman and her two sons, aged five and eight, who were eating together inside Del Taco restaurant in San Bernadino. He then shot and killed himself.

The man and the eight-year-old died, while the woman and the younger child were injured and in critical condition.

Police were unsure of the relationship between the gunman and his victims.
