Delegates, journalists and activists from 200 countries have gathered here and their travel and work will create 46,200 tonnes of carbon dioxide. The emissions would fill nearly 10,000 swimming pools equivalent to emissions produced each year by 2,300 Americans or 660,000 Ethiopians — the vast difference is due to the gap in consumption patterns in the two countries.
