The bodies of the tribesmen, who were shot several times, were found in Hamzoni area of North Waziristan Agency.

A note found with the bodies accused the men of spying for the US.

"Anyone spying on the Taliban will meet the same fate," the note warned.

Local residents said the men were killed overnight and their bodies dumped by the roadside as a warning.

All the dead men belonged to Muhammad Khel area of Dattakhel, which has witnessed a series of drone attacks since
last year.

The US describes North Waziristan as a safe haven for Taliban and Al Qaida elements.

Militants have killed scores of tribesmen they accused of aiding the US in recent years.
