The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial government invited the royal couple for the Shandoor Fair that begins on July 7, sources told Online news agency.

The invitation reportedly said the prince's mother, Diana, had attended the fair once.

The sources said the British foreign ministry and the high commission in Pakistan sent a letter to the provincial government, thanking it for the invitation but adopting the stance that the royal couple would not be able to attend the fair.
