In a satisfaction study, it has emerged that women in their 40s and 50s have healthier-than-ever sex lives, which can help relationships, general health and self-esteem.

Middle-aged women not only have sex more often, it is also more pleasurable, it found.

While 54 per cent of women aged 18 to 30 have difficulties achieving orgasm, only 43% of those aged 31 to 45 experience the same problem. Even those aged 46 to 54 are more likely to have pleasurable sex, with only 48% reporting orgasm difficulties.
