The BCCI and Ravindra Jadeja's family are confident that the all-rounder will recover from his shoulder injury to be a part of India's World Cup defence in Australia and New Zealand.

Jadeja missed the ongoing Test series after injuring his left shoulder in training during the first practice game in Australia.

He is undergoing rehabilitation in Chennai, where he is under the supervision of India physio Nitin Patel and trainer Rajnikant at the Sri Ramachandra Medical College campus.

Jadeja's family members admit he needs intensive rehab but will be ready for the World Cup as there are more than five weeks left for the first game, against Pakistan on February 15.

"He has been advised proper rest, and he is doing that. Plus he is under the best doctors and physios who are doing all they can to get him back to full fitness," Naina, Jadeja's elder sister told HT. "I spoke to him over the phone. He has told me he is much better. The pain has reduced and he could recover completely before the World Cup. We just hope the selectors keep the faith."

"That's why we are confident even Jadeja will recover in time," he told HT. "He has been advised four weeks rest, which still leaves him with about ten days before the World Cup. He can have a fitness test after his rest period is over. He may not make it for the Tri-series but should be in the World Cup squad. Even if he is in the squad, and god forbid fails to recover, we can always ask ICC for a replacement."

Jadeja is nursing the World Cup dream after missing out on the 2011 campaign and is a crucial member. "He was gutted to miss out in 2011. But now with the injury healing, he is in a much better mood," Naina added.
