Ranveer Singh to play rapper in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy?

Looks like rappers Yo Yo Honey Singh, Badshah and Raftaar are in for some tough competition from Bollywood star Ranveer Singh. The Bajirao Mastani star is all set to show his rapping skills in Zoya Akhtar’s next project, tentatively titled Gully Boy.

Looks like rappers Yo Yo Honey Singh, Badshah and Raftaar are in for some tough competition from Bollywood star Ranveer Singh. The Bajirao Mastani star is all set to show his rapping skills in Zoya Akhtar’s next project, tentatively titled Gully Boy.

If the buzz is to be believed, Ranveer will be playing the role of an underground rapper from Mumbai in Zoya Akhtar’s next. According to a leading daily, the film is inspired from real life rappers like Divine and Naezy.

Zoya and Ranveer, who have worked together in 2015 summer release, Dil Dhadakne Do, have often expressed their fondness for each other.

Ranveer had earlier donned the avatar of a rapper for an advertisement video.

The 30- year-old actor is currently busy shooting Aditya Chopra’s Befikre in Paris.
