YRF launches Raj Kapoor’s grandson, Twitter blames them for promoting nepotism
Aadar Jain, grandson of actor Raj Kapoor, has been launched by Yash Raj Films and sparked yet another debate on nepotism.bollywood Updated: Jul 05, 2017 16:07 IST
Even after the debate that raged through the nation a few months ago on nepotism in Bollywood, Yash Raj Films decided it was a good idea to launch late actor Raj Kapoor’s grandson, Aadar Jain into movies.
However, Twitter was not kind to the ‘aspiring actor’ and took his case, calling him and the banner out on giving unfair opportunities to sons and daughters of actors in the film industry.
Aadar is the younger son of Rima Jain, Raj Kapoor’s daughter. He is also the cousin of Ranbir, Karisma and Kareena Kapoor. He has previously worked as the assistant director to Farah Khan on Happy New Year and Karan Johar on Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
To introduce him to the world, YRF used special Twitter cards, most of which talked about his heritage. One even projected Raj Kapoor’s image on Aadar’s tshirt.
Twitter was not pleased that YRF has not learnt any lesson from the nepotism debate, sparked by actor Kangana Ranaut during an episode of Koffee With Karan. On the show, she accused director Karan Johar of being ‘the flagbearer of nepotism.’ Following her comments, many big ticket actors like Varun Dhawan and Sonakshi Sinha tried to defend successful parents introducing their children to movies.
The infuriated commentators accused Aadar of using his Kapoor card to get into films:

Many actors like Anushka Sharma, Athiya Shetty and even director Karan Johar welcomed Aadar in the industry.
Apart from Aadar, Anya Singh of Delhi was also launched by YRF.
She moved to Mumbai and had to undergo auditions before bagging the role in a film that will directed by Habib Faizal (Ishaqzaade) and co-star Aadar.
