After Dhoni and Azharuddin, now Ajinkya Rahane wants a biopic too
The Mumbai-born batsman says he is a big fan of Bollywood and wants favourite actor Aamir Khan to portray him on screen.
Cricketer Ajinkya Rahane, who is considered to be a shy cricketer on and off the pitch, says that he doesn’t like the limelight on him, and that he’d rather let his bat do the talking. And besides playing cricket, watching Bollywood films is what he likes most.
“When I am not playing, I like to stay indoors and watch Bollywood films. I am a big fan of Aamir Khan. He has done some fantastic work over the years,” says the 27-year-old, who is looking forward to watching two of his loves come together — Bollywood and cricket, in the form of biopics on cricketers Mohammad Azharuddin, Sachin Tendulkar and MS. Dhoni. “All the films look exciting. I can’t really choose which trailer I liked the most (laughs). I liked them all, and if I find some time, I will definitely watch them all,” he adds.

Asked if he would like a biopic on himself, he says, “Yes, I guess it will be nice.” And goes on to add, “He (Aamir) is my favourite actor and I would love him to reprise my role in the film,” says Rahane.
The cricketer, who is married to his childhood friend Radhika Dhopavkar, who he married in 2014, says his wife has only made his life better. “She understands me well and my dedication to the sport. Whenever I am playing a match — for IPL or for the Indian team, she always makes sure that cricket is the only thing I focus on. She respects the passion I have for the sport. I think her support has made me a better human being as well,” he says.
