The fluorescent suit has found its place in men’s wardrobes, with a lot of celebrities ditching monochromes for bright-coloured suits to take on the summer heat.

Giving a break to boring navy blue, black and greys, fashion savvy men are up for a kitschier look this summer, as they opt for bright and bold suits with full force. Fluorescent tuxedos hit the runway back in 2012 and the trend has now made a comeback with a lot of celebs rocking the look. From footballer Robin Singh to actor Ayushmann Khurrana, many celebrities have been sporting the trend on the red carpet.

Ayushmann Khurrana picked a bright green suit and styled it with the right amount of quirk.

“The fluorescent suit trend stems from sportswear that is usually bright-hued. These suits are bright and luminous and have been inspiring a lot of designers of late. I personally think these suits are pretty funky, and they look amazing if styled in the right way,” says designer Nikhil Mehra.

While Robin Singh wore his orange bright suit with white sneakers, Shahid completed his look with a pair of monk strap shoes.

Asked whether this trend will take to the street or not, designer Troy Costa says, “It depends on the individuality and this can’t be pulled off by everyone. One needs to have that knack in order to make it work. But it is a cool trend and thanks to Bollywood celebrities for making it popular.”

“For a lot of print suits and TV ads I am styling most of my models in bright suits. I love it because it is funky and you can make an immediate impact,” says stylist Vikram Seth.
