Angry over a road accident which left two persons dead, a mob attacked a police station with stones and set the guard room on fire on Thursday, prompting police to fire in air to disperse them at Tikapatti of Purnea district in Bihar.

The attack followed the death of two persons in a road accident on Wednesday, superintendent of police Nishant Kumar Tiwari said.

The situation was brought under control and additional policemen were deployed at the police station as a precautionary measure, he said.

Some other protesters blocked the road at Rupauli in protest of the road accident, he said.
