One worker was killed and 15 others left injured on Tuesday when a chemical tanker exploded at a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant here, police said.
The incident took place at around 11 am in the Paravada Mandal in the outskirts of the city. About 35 workers were on duty at the time the tanker containing ammonia exploded, circle inspector, Parawada Police station, B Ramanamurty said.
The deceased worker has not been identified yet.
The injured have been admitted to a local hospital in Gajuwaka, police added.
