The Vashi railway police found bodies of two men along the railway tracks between Rabale and Airoli railway stations on Tuesday morning.

The deceased were in their early twenties. The police suspect they fell off a train on the trans-harbour line on Monday night.

“Prima facie, it appears that the deceased were under the influence of marijuana and lost their grips while travelling in a train. This is not murder. We have recovered some documents from their pockets and are now trying to reach out to their families,” said one senior officer from Vashi GRP.

The police have sent the bodies to NMMC hospital in Vashi for post-mortem.

“We will register an accidental death case,” the officer said.
