Ed Sheeran on Wednesday announced nine new cities in his 2017 world tour - and Mumbai is one of them!
Following in the footsteps of Justin Bieber, who will perform for a 50,000-strong crowd at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium on May 10, Sheeran, famous for his single Shape of You, will headline a gig in Mumbai on November 19, his website reveals.
Sheeran is an English singer/songwriter whose third album, ÷ (”divide”), was released in March 2017. The album debuted at number one in the UK, the US and other major markets. The first two singles from the album, Shape of You and Castle on the Hill, were released in January 2017 and broke records in a number of countries by debuting in the top two positions of the charts.
Sheeran, who has two Grammys to his name, is the third major artist to perform in India recently after Bieber and Coldplay, who also performed in Mumbai in 2016.
