Dancing around in her room and asking her to mother to keep quiet as she was giving her first interview, five-year-old Ahana said, “Arjun [actor Arjun Rampal] uncle gave me a huge box of chocolates and now I wish to do a ‘Tamasha’ movie with Deepika Padukone because I love her.”
Crowned the ‘Rose Princess’ at the 2014 Rose Festival, city girl Ahana Singh made her Bollywood debut in ‘Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh’ which released on Friday. The Sujoy Ghosh directorial stars actors Vidya Balan, Arjun Rampal and Jugal Hansraj.
Ahana, a Sector 8 resident, plays the role of Simran who is Rampal’s daughter in the film. Sharing her experience from the one of the scenes in the film, she said, “I had to call Arjun uncle ‘dad’ in the movie and requested him to bring a dog for me to which he suggested that I should talk to my mother first.”
Her mother Neena Singh said, “There was this one scene which got us worried because she had to ride behind Arjun on a bike, considering she had never sat on a bike before. To our surprise, it turned out to be a fun ride for her.” To this, Ahana jumped and said, “I want to ride a bike now.”
Recalling some behind-the-camera moments, Ahana said, “I miss my fancy van in which the costume designers dressed me up and brought me whatever I wanted to eat whenever I wanted. I ate a lot of Maggi in there.”
Talking about how her daughter landed a role with a big banner film, Neena said, “It was her grandfather’s dream that someone in the family should enter the industry. We got to know that casting director Mukesh Chhabra’s company was conducting auditions and we took Ahana for the audition. They gave us 30 minutes to prepare the script but she was done in 20 minutes. She was fortunately selected in the first go.”
She added, “It is a ‘yes’ from the entire family for her to join the film industry. If she gets another call from Bollywood, we’ll allow her to go for it.”
