Franco Mulakkal is new bishop
Franco Mulakkal has been appointed the bishop of diocese of Jalandhar. Earlier, he was serving as auxiliary bishop of Delhi.

Franco, 49, had studied from St Mary's Petit Seminary, Thope, Trichur, Kerala. He was ordained priests for the Diocese of Jalandhar in April 1990
He did Masters in English and sociology from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, and doctorate in moral theology from the Alphonsian Academy of Lateran University, Rome.
He was director of the Pastoral centre, Parish pries, financial administrator and head of the department and professor at Holy Trinity Regional Major Seminary and member of the diocesan College of Consulters.
He was also nominated Titular Bishop of Culla and auxiliary bishop of Delhi in 2009. He is also a secretary of the regional bishops' conference of North India and consulter of the Pontifical council for Inter-Religious Dialogue, Rome.
