A selfie worth Rs 8 lakh in Ludhiana: When craze costs you!

Selfie craze proved costly to a woman when jewellery worth nearly Rs 8 lakh kept in her bag was stolen while she was busy in clicking her own pictures at a marriage function at Mohini Resorts at Chandigarh road on Monday night. A first information report (FIR) was registered on Tuesday by the victim.

Rajan Sharma of Bhamian said marriage function of his sister was taking place at Mohini Resorts. His younger sister Neelam was sitting beside the bride. She kept a bag containing cash and jewellery on the chair and went to get photographs clicked. An 11-year-old boy caught in CCTV camera in the act of stealing the bag containing cash and jewellery kept on the chair. The bag contained Rs 1,500 in cash and jewellery with at least 40 grammes of gold worth Rs 8 lakh.

Assistant sub inspector Gurdev Singh said police have been trying to trace the boy with the help of CCTV images.
